4 of my fav looks from this years Grammy's

Nov 04, 2014

It is definitely getting colder and it almost feels like the end of the year. So I thought I would do a little trip down memory lane - right the way back to the Grammy's in January. These are four of my favourite, and what I consider to be the most unique, looks from way back then!

Grammy Fashion 2014

This is the lovely Katy Perry wearing Valentino Couture. There is something Disney princess about Katy and this whimsical dress fits her persona perfectly. The hair would have usually annoyed me but, in this instance, it goes with the whole princess vibe. Love the musical notes on it and the layers of floaty tulle - the nude shade is just the right tone for her delicate colouring.

I actually had no idea who this was but it is Zendaya Coleman wearing Emanuel Ungaro. It's sexy but not obvious, with the buttoned up collar and long sleeve, and for that reason it looks distinctive and stands apart from the other dresses. The blue at the bottom is unusual and actually works well against the black top half, details and accessories. I love the way she has styled it by opening up the buttons to show some leg, the little pointy shoe (love) and her hair tied back. Make up is also perfect.

Hottest Fashion From the Grammys

Although not technically at the awards, she wore this at a pre-Grammy party. The dress is by Alexandre Vauthier and fits and flares in exactly the right places. The yellow is electric against her skin but definitely does not drown out the woman in the dress. Although the dress is a killer, sometimes I do think the way she carries herself makes anything look 200% better than it is - would it look the same on anyone else? Doubtful.

My last pick is this cute little number worn by Kacey Musgraves. There is so much that is fun about this dress from the length to the shape, the colour blocking, the heavy embellishment and the wide white belt. She did get some flack for this dress with a lot of people hating on it. But I think it is totally fun and age appropriate (as much as I hate that word). It is sparkly, colourful, over the top and has gold tassels on it.... what's not to love? But seriously, there's a time and a place for everything and this was the right time and place!
